Yesterday afternoon I got an email from a reader:

“…I’m really interested in attending your Authority Brand Workshop but I’m worried I might not have the qualifications to call myself an authority. Would someone like me still get value out of the training?”

This is a great question that comes up every time I talk about self-promotion.

You look around and see people you think are the real experts and think, “I can’t compete with them. Who am I to think I can play at that level?”

What you don’t realize is that those big names you idolize didn’t have any credentials when they started either.

None, zero, nada.

Let’s take a look at a few examples so you see what I mean.

If you’re waiting around to be anointed by someone before you start building your brand you’re going to be waiting forever.

I’m not telling you to lie about your abilities. That would be unethical.

What I saying is it’s never too early to get deliberate about crafting the reputation you want to have.

I call it Authority Branding.
